Nowadays, social media
has broadened its content. It is no longer social or only as communication
platform for two or group of people. Social media now has become one important
platform of marketing in business. Researches show that 80% or people are now
on social media. Therefore, social media has become functional to market
products, promote brands, connect to current customers, and broaden customers
and to increase brand exposure.
For the past few years, companies have started to
follow the trend of using social media platform in order to expand their
business. They may have their own websites, but given the fact that majority of
people surf through social media hours and hours per day, social media almost replaced
the role of company’s official website. Facebook and Instagram are two of the
social media platform that I think put an important role on helping companies
in Australia particularly to expand their business these days. Their audiences
ranges of all ages, backgrounds, occupations, and interests. Therefore, their
ability to filtering community and interest gives advantages to companies to
reach their target market or found by targeted audience. And while now that
everything become accessible online, people tend to access products or services
online particularly through social media.
